The Significance for Humans
There is nothing more beautiful than having a friend, is there?
A dog is man's best friend. This saying is known to all of us. Life with them is more beautiful and joyful. Dogs are loyal and devoted to us. After all, there’s nothing better than returning home from school or kindergarten to find that little bundle of joy jumping with excitement, right? 🙂 This and many other reasons are why a dog becomes a valued member of the family.
Humans have bred dogs from wolves to protect them and warn them of impending danger, accompany them in everyday life, and assist in hunting. They became our guardians and protectors of human dwellings, providing companionship throughout history.
Later on, new dog breeds began to be developed and refined according to various uses of dogs in daily life, making them increasingly necessary to us.
Choosing the right one is key
How to Choose a Dog?
Each dog breed is different, which makes choosing the right one very important. The right choice is the foundation of our shared happiness; each of us wants to have a happy dog at home, so we cannot select one solely based on appearance. Of course, all puppies are beautiful, but when choosing, we must pay attention to the fact that each dog has inherent abilities and needs that cannot be changed. When choosing, we need to consider whether we will keep the dog indoors or outdoors, whether we want a small one, or if we have enough space for a larger dog. From the very first moment, temperament and personality are crucial in selecting a dog. Choosing the right breed is essential, but we cannot overlook the person from whom we are buying the dog. The most reliable way to anticipate a puppy's characteristics is to purchase it from a reputable breeder and inquire about its lineage. However, it’s not always necessary for the dog to be purebred. A shelter dog will be very grateful for your adoption, but it’s essential to ask about its habits and needs. 🙂 You may have chosen a white dog at the shelter, but the breeder may recommend a black one based on your lifestyle; in that case, color should not matter. Take their advice, and you will be more satisfied, you’ll see. 🙂
A Companion
What Does Happiness Come From?
With the right choice, your dog will become your best partner; you will complement each other and understand one another, sharing similar activity levels and demands. To illustrate that every dog is different and suited for various conditions, let’s look at some examples. Surely, you all know the Chihuahua. It is one of the smallest dog breeds in the world. They enjoy being carried in bags or accompanying their owners on shopping trips or walks around town, but they are bred to live indoors. They cannot tolerate cold weather and temperature fluctuations; they are delicate and vulnerable. They are not suitable for long walks, which means they do not need much exercise. They are ideal for apartments and love to be pampered, which is generally true for all dogs. 🙂
In contrast to the Chihuahua is the German Shepherd, do you know it? It is a strong dog that resembles a wolf. This resemblance is not accidental; it has not been as extensively bred as the Chihuahua. 🙂 The German Shepherd needs a more experienced and active owner. Training is very important for it, but you don’t have to persuade them; it sees training as a form of play and actively seeks it out. It is a guarding and working dog that requires regular exercise; it would suffer in an apartment. Do you see how different they are? 🙂 Choose wisely, and you will be rewarded!
